Waterford Distribution Company Case Study Fast Food

CASE STUDY: FAST FOOD

Total Distribution 5,000 Cost €300
(excluding VAT) – 6c per home

A shared leaflet distribution of 5,000 leaflets with special offers attached.  The leaflet offered special offer meals for one week only. The fastfood outlet booked a week before to distribute 5,000 leaflets in the immediate area of their business due to open that week. Waterford Distribution picked up leaflets on Monday evening and distribution began Wednesday morning and was complete by 2pm Thursday.

This was the first weekend of business and the fastfood outlet ran out of two items on special offer and had to call in additional staff to cope with the demand. As they did not offer a voucher system we did not receive exact figures with regard to return of leaflets but it was the only form of advertising undertaken for this week. This fastfood outlet continues to distribute approx 500 to 1,000 leaflets per week in the immediate area of their business offering different special offers from month to month.

Waterford Distribution Company Case Study New Service

CASE STUDY: NEW SERVICE

Total Distribution 20,000 Cost €1,200
(excluding VAT) – 6c per home

A new business start up in Waterford City required full coverage of Waterford City to advertise a new service. The leaflet gave a brief guideline of the new service and directed people to their website to avail of introductory special offers. The new service business booked their distribution 3 weeks in advance but had to change their booking due to a technical problem with their website.  A full run of 20,000 leaflets went out a week later then they had originally planned. (There is no point in sending out leaflets unless the business is prepared to cope with instant enquiries, orders, sales, etc). Waterford Distribution picked up leaflets on Monday evening and distribution began Wednesday morning and was complete by 2pm Thursday.

This was a completely new service to Waterford and all feedback from the leaflet distribution was monitored by hits on the website that had only been up and running for 5 days. The website had 760 hits in the next 10 days and according to the business owners the leaflet distribution more than paid for itself in the first month of business. This business undertakes a full run 20,000 leaflet distribution 2/3 times per annum and finds this the most cost effective form of advertising for their business.

Waterford Distribution Company Case Study Missing Cat

CASE STUDY: MISSING CAT

Irregular Distribution 1000

A woman on the Dunmore Road asked one of our distributors (all local and do the same route every week) if they had seen a black and white cat while he was distributing papers. He rang her later to say he hadn’t seen the cat but would keep an eye out the following week. The woman made up 1,000 home printed leaflets with a photo and details of the cat which we distributed in her own immediate area. The cat had moved in to a neighbours’ house only 200 metres up the road – but the leaflets did the job and the cat was returned safely. This is not a regular distribution.
